Various colours are used to capture the instinctive sense of the moment in her work. She derives inspiration from humans, and the nature and colours that surround us, both in tangible objects and abstract sense.
Jieun Kong mainly paints portraits to create works that can have different meanings for each viewer.
Inspired by the quote,
“Everyone is a mirror reflecting themselves,”
Her works give the viewer an unconscious sight to personal, emotional, sensory and they wish. She uses a variety of materials, recently she has been expanding her medium from oil painting to mixed media.
